Dates, Rates, and Financial Aid
Summer Session 2021 will be comprised of one 4-week on-campus session beginning July 3 and concluding July 29.
Personal Expenses: An Expense Deposit of $500 is due along with the signed Enrollment Agreement. This deposit is in addition to the tuition fees and is non-refundable in case of withdrawal. When the student arrives on campus, these funds will be transferred into their personal account and will be used to pay for school store purchases, and optional, off-campus activities. Any unused balances will be returned to the family at the conclusion of the program.
Submitting your Expense Deposit is an important step in the enrollment process. It reserves your spot for Summer Session and provides you access to additional enrollment actions such as course selection, optional activity sign-ups, and permission and health forms.
Transportation Expenses: Cardigan can arrange for transportation to campus for students to and from JFK Airport in New York City and Logan Airport in Boston. There is a one-way fee for this transportation: Logan Airport in Boston ($95) and JFK Airport in New York City ($180). These charges will be applied separately to a student's account.
Cardigan Summer Session provides tuition assistance on an as-needed basis. Financial aid decisions are made independently from admission decisions, and do not affect a candidate's chances for enrollment in Summer Session. Individual circumstances will vary. While financial aid is limited, approximately 1 in 5 Summer Session students typically are awarded financial aid, with the average award of $3,385.

Cardigan uses School & Student Services (SSS) to collect the information we need to make financial aid decisions. The Cardigan Summer Programs Financial Aid Information Guide provides step-by-step information on creating an SSS account and applying to Cardigan for aid. You will be prompted to enter Cardigan's Summer Session code: 152943 and be required to upload your most recently filed tax documents to your SSS account: 1040, 1040A, or 1040 EZ; W2; 1099; SSS Business/Farm Statement (if applicable).
We are now accepting financial aid applications subject to availability of funds on a rolling basis.
Financial aid award notifications will be sent to applicants beginning March 3, 2021 and continue as funds remain available thereafter. Upon receipt of award notification, families will have two weeks to accept the aid award and confirm enrollment. Your child will not lose their place in the program while their Financial Aid application is in process, and you will not be asked to sign an Enrollment Agreement until you have received, reviewed, and chosen to accept your aid package.
While it is our expectation that Summer Session 2021 will take place on campus utilizing safety procedures developed and practiced during our academic year program, there remains a great deal of uncertainty ahead of us related to the ongoing pandemic. As such, and given that the health and safety of our students and staff are our highest priority, should we be required to cancel our 2021 on-campus programming and/or your student is forced to withdraw due to COVID-19 related reasons, we are committed to providing you with a full refund until June 1, 2021. We are committed to being transparent and timely in our communication of the evolving situation so that we can all be prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
