Tuition for 2021 Summer Session

Additional Costs

Personal Expenses: An enrollment deposit of $500 (for boarding students) or $250 (for day students) is payable at the time of acceptance along with the enrollment contract. These funds are in addition to the tuition fees and will be applied to the student's personal account that is available to pay for school store purchases, and optional off-campus trips. Any funds remaining in this account are credited back to the families at the end of the program.

Transportation Expenses: Cardigan can arrange for transportation for students who need it to and from JFK Airport in New York City and Logan Airport in Boston. There is a flat-fee for these trips (one-way): Logan Airport in Boston ($75) and JFK Airport in New York City ($150). These charges will be applied to a student's account.

Financial Aid

Cardigan Summer Session provides tuition assistance on an as-needed basis. Financial aid decisions are made independently from admission decisions, and do not affect a candidate's chances for enrollment in Summer Session. Individual circumstances will vary. While financial aid is limited, 22% percent of 2019 Summer Session students were awarded financial aid, with the average award of $3,385.

To Apply for Financial Aid

Complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) using 152943 as Cardigan’s code before February 12, 2021. Once your 2019 and/or 2020 taxes are complete, upload these documents to your account on SSS: 1040, 1040A, or 1040 EZ; W2; 1099; SSS Business/Farm Statement (if applicable).

Financial aid awards will be mailed to applicants beginning March 3, 2021. Families are asked to communicate their enrollment decision based on their financial aid award within two weeks of receiving the award. New financial aid applications submitted after the February due date will be processed on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to availability of funds.

2021 COVID-19 Refund Policy

While it is our expectation that Summer Session 2021 will take place on campus utilizing safety procedures developed and practiced during our academic year program, there remains a great deal of uncertainty ahead of us related to the ongoing pandemic. As such, and given that the health and safety of our students and staff are our highest priority, should we be required to cancel our 2021 on-campus programming and/or your student is forced to withdraw due to COVID-19 related reasons, we are committed to providing you with a full refund until June 1, 2021. We are committed to being transparent and timely in our communication of the evolving situation so that we can all be prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
