Health & Safety

In consultation with the Cardigan Health Center, the Summer Session Staff has developed the following health and safety protocols and procedures for Summer Session 2022.

In order to promote a healthy school community, prior to arrival, all students must submit proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 with a WHO or CDC approved/authorized vaccine, unless an approved medical or religious exemption applies. Please upload your student's proof of vaccination to your CampInTouch account. In the event that the student requests an exemption, the School will discuss whether reasonable accommodations that do not impose an undue hardship on the School may be made.

While the pandemic or a regional or local outbreak is ongoing, and regardless of the student’s vaccine status, all students are required to adhere to the School’s rules and protocols addressing health and safety, including wearing a mask if required, maintaining social distance from others, practicing appropriate hygiene, and following any other rules adopted by the School. In addition, during a pandemic or outbreak of a serious communicable illness, the School may require that the student be monitored for symptoms and that the student undergo periodic testing, which may be administered by the School or a qualified third party vendor. In the event that the student tests positive, the School is required by law to share those results with the local department of public health but will otherwise treat the information as confidential health information. The student will also be required to follow whatever protocols are required by law and School policy related to curbing the spread of any communicable illness

  • All Summer Session students must take an antigen test and receive a negative result prior to arrival on campus on July 2. Please send a photo of the antigen test results to prior to your child's arrival on campus.
  • Cardigan will be a "mask welcome" campus, both indoors and outdoors. Currently, we do not plan to require masks but we support students and faculty who choose to wear a mask.
  • If a student should test positive for COVID while on campus, our policy is to send that student home with a parent or guardian. If it is unreasonable to travel to campus and pick up your student (e.g., international students) students will isolate on campus and may return to the community in five days with a negative antigen test result.
  • In order to prioritize the health and safety of all students and faculty, Cardigan Summer Session reserves the right to adapt our COVID protocols in accordance with changes in local or regional conditions.
