It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we write to tell you that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Cardigan Summer Session. While we worked hard as a team to understand the risks, create mitigation plans, and even develop alternative on-campus programming, ultimately, we were confronted with too many uncertainties for us to move forward with our regular summer programming.
As you might expect, the health and safety of our Cardigan community and those connected to us was the single largest factor in our decision. Without the tools of a readily available vaccine or an accurate, time-sensitive test available by this summer, we felt it would be impossible for us to adequately mitigate the risk to our students and faculty members and still be able to offer the perfectly balanced, enriching and safe summer experience that our students expect and deserve.
We join you in your disappointment with this news. Everyone - our students, families, faculty, and staff - want and need a Cardigan Summer Session experience more than ever. While we are saddened to be apart this summer, we hope to see all of you on the Point in beautiful New Hampshire for Cardigan Summer Session 2021. Let’s all support each other and lean on our Cardigan Core Values of Courage, Compassion, Integrity and Respect as we work to get through this together.
You will shortly receive another communication from Cardigan with details about next steps. You can choose to roll over your student’s enrollment to Summer 2021, or receive a refund for all deposits and tuition paid.
While we can't be together, we plan to stay connected, both now and in the future. We thank you for your support and understanding and send our best wishes for happiness, safety, and wellness to you and your family.
