Summer Courses

Inside a Summer Session classroom

Summer Session provides a wide range of courses in math, science, writing, reading, English as a second language, foreign languages, visual arts, and performing arts.

Our five 40-minute daily class periods permit students to create unique personalized programs. Small class sizes, differentiated instruction, and a holistic approach allow our teachers to get to know each student and support his/her individual growth. We also encourage parents and schools to provide us with any student-specific goals we can address over the summer. The list below represents many of the course offerings over the last several years.

Students take five academic class periods each morning, Monday through Friday. We offer a wide variety of courses that are either one or two periods per day, including courses in English, math, science, arts, essential academic skills, world languages, and ESL. For the complete list of classes available, please see the Course Catalog.

At the end of each session, students receive effort grades and comments detailing their individual progress in each of their courses. We believe that eliminating achievement grades allows students to focus on enjoying learning.
