2023-24 Covid Vaccine Policy
Cardigan requires that all students and faculty be up to date with the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 vaccination guidelines prior to arriving on campus in September. For individuals aged 6 years or older, the CDC defines “up to date” as having received one dose of the updated (bivalent) covid vaccine. Given the age group we serve and the close proximity in which we live, we believe that this step will help us minimize the effects of any future outbreak and keep us safer as a community.
- Any student who has not had one dose of the updated (bivalent) covid vaccine is required to get ONE bivalent shot prior to August 24, 2023.
- International students: For new international students who do not have access to an FDA/WHO-approved updated (bivalent) vaccine, we are working to organize vaccinations soon after arrival.
- Requesting an exemption: Cardigan will thoughtfully review requests for an exemption. Please inquire about a possible exemption for your student with the Cardigan Health Center: healthcenter@cardigan.org.
Families will be asked to confirm that their student is up to date with his vaccination in Cardigan’s Magnus Health Portal. Later this summer, new families will receive a welcome email from Magnus Health that includes a link to set up their accounts. If you do not receive a welcome email from Magnus or you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to the Cardigan Health Center by email at healthcenter@cardigan.org.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we continue to prioritize the safety of the entire Cardigan community. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.
Sincerely,
Karen Gray, R.N.
