Parent Planning Guide
We would like to welcome you and your son to Cardigan Mountain School!
We are very excited for the 2026-2027 academic year, and we have compiled the most important information to help you prepare your son for his year on The Point.
The Cardigan Mountain School 2026-27 Parent Planning Guide is a resource intended to help answer the question “what do I need to do, as a parent, to prepare my son for Cardigan?” This planning guide answers the most frequently asked questions concerning the academic year calendar, our dress codes, transportation to and from campus, important medical forms, and insight into our academic and athletic programs.
We understand the eagerness to begin preparations before the school year begins. Some families may wish to ship their student’s belongings to Cardigan. However, unless there is a compelling reason, we respectfully ask families not to ship student belongings to Cardigan until after September 3. We appreciate your support.

Grade 9 Overnight Trip
Pack a Sleeping Bag!
Cardigan’s ninth graders will travel to Keenwood and Evergreen Overnight Camp in Wilmot, New Hampshire, for an overnight experience focused on team-building, leadership, and community. Led by the Student Life Office and participating faculty members, the trip will give students an opportunity to strengthen relationships, develop leadership skills, and begin the year together in a fun and supportive setting.
Students will depart Cardigan on September 10 at 5:00 p.m. and return on September 11 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Ninth graders should pack a sleeping bag or an appropriate blanket for the overnight stay.
