Students Stay Active During Transition Week

Sledding Clancy Hill

Cardigan’s spring term began recently, and our boys spent their academic mornings acclimating to their new class schedule. As the winter sports season has finished and the spring sports season is yet to begin, special afternoon activities are held during Transition Week to keep the boys active and engaged before they depart for Spring Vacation.

Students celebrate on the ice

Kicking-off the week’s activities, we held our annual Faculty vs. Seniors Ice Hockey Game on Monday and the Faculty vs. Seniors Basketball Game on Tuesday. The boys and their teachers worked hard, played their best, and each team earned a win. No matter the score, the entire community showed strong Cardigan spirit and enjoyed the afternoon!

Fitness Day

Fitness Day took place on Wednesday, where the boys had physical capabilities, such as strength, speed, endurance, flexibility, and agility, measured at multiple stations. There are no grades or points awarded, and all that is asked of the boys is that they try their best and encourage others to do the same.

Sledding on Clancy Hill

On Friday, our community enjoyed an afternoon of fun at Winter Carnival. There was plenty of fun to be had indoors and outdoors, as the boys enjoyed games of basketball and dodgeball in Marrion Gym, broomball in Turner Arena, sledding on Clancy Hill, and snow lacrosse on the tennis courts behind McCusker Hall.

After a busy week of staying physically active, energized, and entertained, the boys left campus for a long Spring Vacation. Enjoy the break, boys!
