Successful Completion of the Campaign for Cardigan 2020

We are thrilled to share that yesterday, June 30, 2020, marked the successful completion of The Campaign for Cardigan 2020, a significant milestone for “our favored school.”

We began this Campaign over a decade ago with an audacious vision. Our intent was to improve Cardigan’s residential life for faculty and students; increase support for the daily work of our on-campus community; and ensure the School’s long-term financial sustainability.

It is humbling to contemplate the improvements that these efforts have brought to Cardigan. We see the positive impact on Cardigan’s program reflected in physical changes to our facilities. Full-scale renovations to iconic buildings like Clark-Morgan and Hayward Halls, as well as the new construction of Cardigan Commons, McCusker Hall, and Wallach, are examples of how this impact is made tangible on our campus.

Our School has also made remarkable progress in building financial sustainability. New gifts to endowment are already providing long-term support for facilities maintenance and strategic priorities such as financial aid, academic programs, and professional development. During this Campaign, gifts to the Annual Fund also have been critical, helping Cardigan meet the countless needs that define the day-to-day experiences of our students, faculty, and staff.

The Cardigan community is at the root of every one of these achievements. As we mark Cardigan’s 75th Anniversary in the coming year, we will acknowledge your support: the tireless work of our board, faculty, and staff; the generosity and vision of our donors; and the encouragement and commitment of our alumni, families, and friends. The Campaign for Cardigan 2020 has been a major endeavor, spanning times of prosperity as well as stark challenges for our School and our community. We are keenly aware that, through it all, you have kept Cardigan focused on how to be better for our boys. Clearly, the Cardigan family stands ready to hold this School steady “through storm and weather fair.”

We can all be proud of the work we have done, side by side, for Cardigan. On behalf of Cardigan students, past, present, and future—thank you.
