As the nation went to the polls to select government officials on Tuesday, Cardigan students were busy with their own elections. In addition to the school leaders and dorm leaders that are elected each spring, students can also engage in the leadership of the school through the Student Senate which is elected each fall.
Before heading to the polling station in the Commons, all the students in each grade listened to speeches from the candidates for their grade. With courage and poise, the candidates spoke of their desire to represent their classmates and their willingness to work hard to make Cardigan a positive and fun school. It is worth noting that in the eighth-grade class, an impressive 19 students put their names on the ballot.
With the speeches complete, students went to the Commons to cast their votes. At lunch on Wednesday, the following representatives for each class were announced. Congratulations to all students who participated in the process.
