Spring Sports Awards Honor Skill Development and Friendship

When Cardigan celebrates each athletic season at an awards ceremony, it is the student-athletes who provide the season summaries for each team and reflect on what they have learned. The focus is where it should be: on the athletes. And their reflections consistently replay very similar themes: they are better athletes than when they started, they’ve built strong friendships with their teammates, and they had a lot of fun doing it. Sometimes there is a mention of a hard-fought win, or loss, but it is always in the context of what the boys accomplished together. 

So while the awards ceremony does honor individuals, it is also a celebration of the honorees’ teammates without whom nothing would be possible. Congratulations to all our coaches and student-athletes for a successful spring athletic season!
