Before leaving for the summer vacation, the Cardigan community spent two days playing, learning, and working together. We call it the Rising Community Initiative, and it is an opportunity for faculty and students to begin focusing on school culture for the upcoming academic year. We listened and learned from each other, and considered different perspectives to help us to improve on ourselves and our relationships with each other.
Along with a series of cooperative team building games, we listened to two guest speakers from the Growing Leaders organization, Billy Boughey and Timothy Alexander. Mr. Boughey explained the importance of being our best selves and being a source of positive leadership, while Mr. Alexander shared his inspirational story of resilience and determination.
As a community, we took time to reflect upon the year that we have had, while thinking ahead to the year we want to have. We look forward to kicking off 2019-2020 with a strong vision and sharing that with our incoming Cardigan family.
