Hard Work Pays Off at Fall Concert

Hard Work Pays Off at Fall Concert

After weeks of rehearsal, it was time for Cardigan’s music students to bring their talents to the stage at the fall concert! Our boys performed a wide range of pieces for our community, including classical, popular, world-renowned, and even some originals written by students.

This year, an impressive number of students displayed courage, performing in front of their peers as part of a group or as a soloist. “The arts have certainly grown since I arrived at Cardigan,” said Director of Music Kevin Franco. “There were 82 gentlemen on stage for our fall concert, ranging from those who have been playing an instrument since they could walk, to those who have never touched an instrument, sung, or even been on stage in their entire life.”

The students were rehearsing intensely in the weeks leading up to the concert and many used their free time--including study halls, advisory blocks, evenings, and weekends--to practice their pieces. “They wanted to do this and they did it really, really well and their hard work paid off,” said Mr. Franco. “I couldn’t be more proud of our students!”
