What to Expect From Advisors

Before the end of the school year, all returning students will receive a letter from their advisor that offers a coherent overview of their development at Cardigan. Advisors will share this letter with families so that you can review goals and areas of growth for your son.

Placements for Returning Students

This week, students are completing a survey to indicate their preferences for 2026-2027 advisory and dorm placements. The Student Life Office uses these preferences to inform the placement process. Students who do not want to change advisory groups will generally stay with their current advisor. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Frost at mfrost@cardigan.org. You will hear from your advisor in a welcome email at the end of the summer, and your son will learn his new dorm assignment on registration day in September.

Closing Thoughts

It’s been a remarkable year on The Point, and we can’t thank you enough for your partnership and support. We have experienced the joys of a close-knit community and the fulfillment of pursuits to live responsible and meaningful lives.

Over the years, whenever faculty candidates asked me why I kept coming back, I’d say it was because of the magic of working with boys, seeing them drop their guard, put their arms around one another, sing and dance on stage, struggle together, and say tear-filled goodbyes at the end of a proper adventure.

I hope you get a sense of the magic we will experience during these closing days at Cardigan, and I appreciate your willingness to contribute to it.

Sincerely,

Nick Nowak
