The Fall 2020 Cardigan Athletics season will be remembered for the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Acting to prioritize the health and safety of our community by limiting travel, the School chose not to compete against outside opponents. The new schedule, however, provided opportunities for true skill development and new leadership opportunities for the boys. Most sports scheduled weekly intrasquad scrimmages, races, and meets, allowing the younger and less experienced boys to compete alongside and against their older schoolmates, which turned out to be a valuable learning experience for all.
The unconventional season concluded with an unconventional awards assembly. Instead of convening everyone in Humann Theatre, each sport met separately and handed out awards within the team. Congratulations to all!
