Cardigan Mathletes Compete in Chicago

Last month, more than a dozen Cardigan boys traveled to Chicago to compete at MathCON, a national mathematics competition for students in grades 5-12. More than 50,000 students took the initial online test in February, and 13 of our students qualified for the finals by scoring in the top 2% of all those who participated nationally.

At the Chicago MathCON, the Cardigan mathletes completed a 100-minute, 40-question test composed of multiple choice and open response questions. Five boys earned an honorable mention award, and two earned bronze medals. Congratulations to these boys for traveling over 1,000 miles to represent our school!
