Cardigan Announces Mario Zambrano ’95 as Commencement Speaker

The School’s 74th Commencement is set for May 31

February 11, 2020—Cardigan Mountain School announced this week that alumnus and international business executive Mario Zambrano ’95 will be the featured speaker at the School’s 74th Commencement on May 31.

In addition to managing international family businesses in both energy and food supply, Mr. Zambrano is the owner and CEO of CMIT Solutions of Austin, an outsourced CIO company. Fluent in three languages, Mr. Zambrano has previously held executive positions in U.S. and international engineering and industrial sectors, including founder and Managing Director of Zutixe LLC, where he directed the business and operational activities of leasing and distribution of heavy machinery and products across borders. Currently, he consults Zutixe on its international business in the information technology, energy, and aerospace industries.

After graduating from Cardigan in 1995, Mr. Zambrano, a native of Monterrey, Mexico, returned to Mexico for secondary school. He completed his final year of high school in Germany, where he also studied mechanical engineering in Munich at Technische Universität München. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007.

Mr. Zambrano lives in Austin, Texas with family. In his spare time, he is a passionate pilot and enjoys flying his 1945 Boeing Stearman.
