Cardigan Announces 2026 Matriculation

“This group had a broad list of what they were looking for in their next school,” says Director of Secondary School Counseling Kris Langetieg P’24,’29. “They’ve stretched themselves at Cardigan and want to continue to seek challenges as they transition to high school.”

The boys’ decisions will take them to 34 different secondary schools in 10 different states. And while the majority of students will remain in New England, several will attend schools in the Midwest and California.

Mr. Langetieg says this group of boys worked really hard this year, taking ownership of their academic successes and failures, leaning into adversity, and embracing constructive feedback. Their hard work paid off. Six students will be attending St. Paul’s School. Four students each will be attending Deerfield Academy as well as Northfield Mount Hermon School. An additional three students each will be attending The Hill School, The Hotchkiss School, Kimball Union Academy, Phillips Exeter Academy, Salisbury School, St. George’s School, and Suffield Academy. The Rivers School and Walnut School for the Arts were two new destinations for Cardigan students.

“These boys are great kids who care about each other and the community,” says Mr. Langetieg. “They will be outstanding assets at the next schools they attend.”
