Cardigan Mountain School A boarding and day school for boys in grades 6 through 9

2020-21 Parent Planning Guide

We would like to welcome you and your son to Cardigan Mountain School! We are very excited to begin the 2020-2021 academic year, and have compiled the most important information to help you prepare your son for his year on The Point. As we confirm plans for the 2020-21 academic year that balance program goals with our focus on the health and safety of our community, we have updated this guide with specific information relevant to the requirements of a unique year.

The Cardigan Mountain School Planning Guide is a resource intended to help answer the question “what do I need to do, as a parent, to prepare my son for Cardigan?” This planning guide answers the most frequently asked questions concerning the academic year calendar, our dress codes, transportation to and from campus, important medical forms, and insight into our academic and athletic programs. This guide is an abbreviated version of the Cardigan Mountain School Parent Handbook. The online parent handbook will give you even more details about Cardigan Mountain School and will help answer the many questions that will arise as you navigate your son’s first year at Cardigan.

We understand the eagerness to begin preparations before the school year begins. Some families may wish to ship their student’s belongings to Cardigan. However, unless there is a compelling reason, we respectfully ask families not to ship student belongings to Cardigan until after August 7, 2020. We appreciate your support.

Please do not hesitate to contact any of us with specific questions. We look forward to meeting you and your son in August!

Sincerely,

The Student Life Team
