Mr. Nevins has been at Cardigan for eight years. A lifelong cyclist, he brings considerable riding and coaching experience to coaching our mountain bike program. He is a former winner of the Amateur Over Mountain Enduro Race at Highland Bike Park and the Octoberfest Enduro at Mount Peg. Mr. Nevins is also the Head Alpine Ski Coach.

Championship Race

The Cardigan Varsity Mountain Bike Team had an outstanding day at the 2019 NNEHSMTB Championships held at Franklin Falls Dam. In the C category, Ian Hede ‘21 finished 9th and Sebastien Madan ‘21 was 10th out of 103 racers! In the B class, Dylan Biggs ‘20 was 10th and Gabriel Brondel ‘20 was 11th out of 76 riders. In the A Class, Jack Diemar ‘21 finished 18th! As a team, the Cardigan Mountain bikers finished in 10th place out of 24 high school squads.

The Varsity Mountain Bike Team hosted the East region's 6th race of the year. Two Cougars earned podiums. In the B race, Wilfrido Castillo ‘20 was 2nd and in the C race, Sebastien Madan ‘21 was 2nd.

Also scoring for the team points were: Jack Diemar ‘21 who placed 5th in the A race; Dylan Biggs ‘20 who was 7th in the B race; Gabe Brondel ‘20, 12th in the B race and Anders Silitch ‘21, 14th in the B race. Cardigan finished 4th out of 12 high-school teams.

The coaches would like to thank the race volunteers for their time and care and the parents who cheered the riders.


The Cardigan Varsity Mountain Bike Team enjoyed racing Eaglebrook on Saturday. After a fun pre-ride, the race was on and the Cougar’s training paid off. Jack Diemar ‘21, Dylan Biggs ‘20 and Wil Castillo ‘20 finished 1, 2, 3 in the A race and in the JV, B race, Wilson Knapp ‘21, Evan Brondel ‘22, and Mark Anstiss ‘21 finished 1, 2, 3. All the riders enjoyed a little extra time free riding after the event. Thank you to all the parents from both schools; you are great fans!
