The mighty Cougars partnered with Positive Tracks today to fundraise for our local running community at Indian River School. The event, called The FUNSIE ONESIE RUNSIE was a 1.5 mile run on our home course while . . . you guessed it, wearing a onesie (or otherwise festive outfit)! The boys recruited over 60 students and 15 faculty runners to sweat for the cause! Onesie wielding runners including cows, heroes, squirrels, sharks, rabbits and much more roamed the hills and mud puddles. Mr. Klein, donning a giraffe onesie, and Mrs. Edson, a Cookie Monster, upped the stakes with a coaches’ challenge. Pride, homemade cookies, and school spirit were the icing on the cake. The fundraiser was quite literally a “wild” success! Be sure to check out smugmug for pictures of this event. Also, stay tuned for our regional meet in 2 days!

The Cardigan Mountain School JV Cross Country Team welcomed Indian River, Hanover Recreational, and Unity Cross Country teams to their home course on Saturday. It was another beautiful day for a run here, on the point. Indian River (29) came through the finish line with a slew of runners to win the meet while Hanover Recreation (39) came in second. Cardigan placed third with a score of 76. Kyle Jia ‘21 came through 6th overall and 1st for Cardigan followed by Sky Wong ‘20 (16th overall), Time Tanglertsumphun ‘23 (17th), Harrison Huang ‘21 (18th), and Chris Giavelli ‘21 (19th) as the next Cougar runners to score. Andrew Liu ‘22 and Cillian Clark ‘21 rounded out the next couple of runners for Cardigan.

On a beautiful fall day on the Point, the Cardigan JV Cross Country Team took on Eaglebrook’s squad. Racing through the New Hampshire woods, the races ended with some close finish line sprints. The Cougars ran well but could not beat the Eagle runners. Notable racing goes to Kyle Jia ‘21 who finished third overall and first for Cardigan. Sky Wong ‘20 and Patricio Kamar ‘21 had a great race coming in 2nd and 3rd for Cardigan. Harrison Huang ‘21 and Chris Giavelli ‘21 rounded out the Cougar scoring.
