Director of Teaching and Learning (posted 01/23/19): Cardigan Mountain School seeks an experienced and visionary educator to serve as the strategic leader of our academic program, working with students, faculty, and department chairs to implement an active and entrepreneurial approach to learning. The position serves as the director of the school’s innovative Gates Program, oversees faculty professional development opportunities around the art and craft of teaching, and provides vision and direction for the school’s one-to-one laptop program. Dean of Academics (posted 2/5/19): Cardigan Mountain School seeks an experienced educator to manage the school’s academic program, overseeing the academic schedule, student placement, and oversight of the systems of teaching and learning. The Dean of Academics serves as the primary interface between families and the academic program of the school, helping to enroll students in appropriate courses of study, coordinating the creation and distribution of student progress reports, and helping to define strategies for student support. The Dean of Academics will have teaching duties, and works with the Director of Teaching and Learning and Department Chairs to manage and enhance our academic curriculum. Teaching Apprentice/Intern (posted 2/5/19): The Cardigan Mountain School Teacher Apprentice/Intern Program offers “on the job” training for those individuals interested in becoming a middle school teacher, while also providing the opportunity to explore other facets of an independent school life including admissions, athletic administration, international relations, secondary school placement, or development. The program is a full-time, 10-month paid position at Cardigan Mountain School, a boarding school for middle school boys in grades 6-9. Head Hockey Coach (posted 2/7/19): Cardigan Mountain School seeks an experienced and committed coach and educator to lead the Varsity Hockey Team and Ice Hockey Program beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. The coaching position is a full-time, 10-month faculty position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in playing and coaching hockey, possess a passion and commitment to player development as student-athletes, and have experience as a classroom teacher and residential supervisor. Summer Session Teachers

The Cardigan Mountain School Summer Session looks to hire teachers and aspiring teachers for our summer program. In the mornings our students take in five class periods in Math, English, ESL, Foreign Languages, Science, and Organization/study skills. In the afternoon the campus looks like a traditional summer camp with a plethora of outdoor and indoor activities.
 
Aspiring Teacher Program: Observes and works with a mentor during the academic morning to build up to co-teaching classes later on in the summer, supervises two activity periods in the afternoon, and assists in dorm supervision. Classroom experience not required. Many members of this program work with their university to get class credit along with this position.
 
Residential Teacher: Teaches four periods in the morning, supervises one activity period in the afternoon, and assists in dorm supervision. Classroom or teacher training experience required. Classroom experience desired.
 
Day Teacher: Teaches four periods in the morning. Classroom experience desired.
