SUMMER 2025

Cardigan continues to innovate and grow, building programs that intentionally address the needs of middle school boys. The Gates Program now includes more offerings and more opportunities at all grade levels, and outdoor programming continues to be a top priority as the school builds the infrastructure to support learning and adventures beyond the main campus. But integral to all is failure. “At Cardigan, failure is not considered a terminal condition,” says Head of School Chris Day P’12,’13. “Rather, it is an opportunity to unpack setbacks and learn from them—to reach into one’s toolbox and find the resources to help overcome the obstacles the next time.” Join us in this issue of the Chronicle as we explore further what it means to invite failure onto campus and into our classrooms.
