Financial Aid
Cardigan Mountain School, in keeping with our desire to attract and maintain a diversified student body, offers a generous need-based financial aid program. The aid is intended to support families who otherwise would not be able to meet the cost of attending Cardigan. Annually, twenty-five percent of our student body receives financial assistance.
Cardigan awards financial aid on the basis of need to those families who qualify, as determined by the School and Student Services by NAIS. Unfortunately, Cardigan does not have the resources to award financial aid to all who qualify. Therefore, the overall strength of a candidate's application is used as a criterion for distributing aid. Financial Aid awards are made to those candidates who have successfully met the deadlines and criteria for admission. To receive information, please contact the Admissions Office at 603.523.3548 or by email at admissions@cardigan.org.
Financial Aid Timeline
The Financial Aid Office strongly encourages families to apply for financial aid online, as it is convenient, cost-efficient, and secure, and can greatly expedite the processing of awards. Please visit the School and Student Services (SSS) website to learn more and begin an application: www.sss.nais.org. If a family would prefer to have a paper Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) sent, please contact the Financial Aid Office directly at 603.523.3528.

January, 2012
Begin a PFS and download/request all pertinent forms through SSS.

*Note: parents who are separated or divorced will need to fill out individual SSS forms.

Parents/guardians should complete and mail the PFS to SSS, or submit the form online. Parents should also submit a photocopy of their signed 2011 tax return (1040 IRS form and any pertinent schedules) and W-2s. February 10, 2012

The Financial Aid Office will mail all financial aid decision letters to families whose forms were submitted on time and in full for the February deliberations. New financial aid applications are processed after this date, and awards will be distributed after an offer of admission is extended.

March–August 2012

Financial aid awards will be made on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to availability of funds.
