|  | Meet the Alumni & Development Office Staff Richard ClancyDirector of Alumni Programs 603.523.3601 Year Appointed: 2010 Richard brings a lifelong association with Cardigan to the Development Office as the Director of Alumni Programs. Richard was born into the Cardigan family as the youngest son of longtime Cardigan employees Dick and Nellie Clancy. As a member of the Cardigan class of 1967, and a member of the faculty in the 1970s, Richard has unique knowledge of and tremendous respect for the school’s history and traditions. Richard has spent over two decades volunteering for the Cardigan Mountain School Alumni Association, serving on the Association’s Board of Directors, and also serving for a term as the Association’s President. He comes to the Director’s position ready to coordinate, plan, and execute programs designed to energize, influence, and evoke interest on the part of the alumni for the welfare of the School, and to promote a willingness on their part to contribute to its continued success. |
 Frederick ExtonDirector of International Relations 603.523.3838 Year Appointed: 1995 Rick Exton is the Director of the International Student Program and Relations at Cardigan Mountain School. He is entering his 17th year at the school. Rick is joined by his wife Mary, and his two children, Elizabeth and Joe (’11). Over the years he has taught Chinese, ESL, French, and Spanish. This year, Rick is focusing on overseeing all aspects of international student life, and reaching out to alums.
In their free time, Rick and his family enjoy outdoor activities including kayaking, bicycling, hiking, and others. They also enjoy traveling to different countries and learning about their cultures. |
 Barbara FrazierData Manager 603.523.3529 Year Appointed: 2002 Barb joined the Development Office in June of 2002. As the mother of three CMS alumni, Matt ’88, Brendan ’95, and Tim ’00, and a daughter, Christine, who attended six summer sessions, Barb brings a unique perspective to the Development Office. In the past she has overseen the Parents’ Auction, first as a parent volunteer and then as the auction coordinator. Under Barb’s direction and with the help of parent volunteers and her office co-workers, the success of each auction exceeded everyone’s expectations. You’ll find Barb managing our data services and working on stewardship projects, thanking our donors for their generosity and support.
Barb lives in Canaan with her husband, Joe. She is an avid weaver and enjoys an active lifestyle, kayaking and sailing with her family. |
 Christopher HeaneyDirector of Annual Giving 603.523.3516 Year Appointed: 2011 Christopher Heaney joined Cardigan Mountain School as the Director of Annual Giving in July 2011. Prior to joining the Cardigan team, Chris was the Director of the Annual Fund at Hillside School in Marlborough, MA and also worked for his alma mater, Norwich University, as a Major Gifts Officer.
Chris’s interests include ice hockey and running. After spending five years behind the bench as a head hockey coach at Framingham State University, Chris now spends game time on the ice as an official refereeing all levels, including prep school and college hockey.
A graduate of the Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA, and Norwich University in Northfield, VT, Chris is the proud father of twin daughters, Madeline and Olivia, and resides in Canaan, NH. |
 Kathryn HollandOffice Manager 603.523.3519 Year Appointed: 2008 Kathryn joined the development team as the office manager in 2008 and provides administrative support for the department. She is originally from Arkansas and now resides in New Hampshire. Kathryn enjoys working at Cardigan and is looking forward to meeting alumni, parents, and friends of the School. |
 Mary LedouxDevelopment Associate 603.523.3563 Year Appointed: 2010 Mary joined the CMS Development Office in 2010. She comes to Cardigan following a 30-year career in the print industry, managing print production and customizing estimating data bases for domestic print companies.
Mary’s responsibilities on campus include campaign organization, research, stewardship, and special projects. She also represents the school as a Destination Imagination Appraiser, and helps behind the scenes of school theatre productions.
Mary and her husband Joe live on a small farm nearby. Their focus is to live off the land, and provide for their own needs as best they can. In addition to growing their own food, they also maintain a diverse herd of livestock, including equines and camelids. |
 Douglas LovellDirector of Parent Relations and Planned Giving 603.523.3662 Year Appointed: 2011 Douglas joins Cardigan having worked in Development for the past sixteen years. He has worked on successful auction efforts at The Potomac School in McLean, VA and Far Hills Country Day School in Far Hills, NJ, and has experience in major and planned giving for Washington National Cathedral and Colby-Sawyer College. Douglas is a graduate of St. George’s School in Newport, RI and is grateful for the terrific experience he had in boarding school.
Douglas’s responsibilities on campus include The Parent’s Association, The Auction, working with Foundations, and helping with the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign.
Douglas enjoys coaching and playing ice hockey, windsurfing, and photography. He lives in Hanover, NH with his wife, Liz, and their three daughters, Katie, Lillie and Hopie. |
 David PerfieldDirector of Development 603.523.3522 Year Appointed: 2011 David comes to Cardigan from a decade-long year career at New Hampton School, located in New Hampton, N.H., where he served as Associate Director of Development, Major Gifts Officer, Assistant Director of Admissions, and as a faculty member and football coach since 2001. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, and is an Ironman triathlete, skier, college sports fan, and avid reader.
David and his wife, Lisa, welcomed their first child—daughter Anna—in May, 2011. |
 Pamela SusiExecutive Assistant 603.523.3571 Year Appointed: 2011 Pamela Susi is the Executive Assistant for the Alumni and Development Office. Prior to Pam’s arrival at Cardigan, she was the Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at New Hampton School, and previously worked in the Alumni Relations Office at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH. Pam grew up outside of Boston, and since childhood has spent her summers in the Lakes Region. In 2003, after working in downtown Boston for over 10 years, she and her husband made a life change and moved to the Granite State. Before moving to New Hampshire, Pam worked at a private trustee and fiduciary company, managing the application process for several private foundations, and also in the development office of a large Boston-based nonprofit organization. She currently resides in nearby Alexandria with her husband, Joseph, and their daughter, Natalie. |
