| | Experience Summer at Cardigan's CORE
The CORE Summer Program Objective
Using the natural world as our classroom, the purpose of CORE is to instill in boys a lifelong passion for the outdoors while developing the necessary skills to fully pursue this passion for a lifetime. CORE seeks to challenge boys to reach deep within themselves to discover who they are and how they relate to the natural world.
CORE offers a variety of expedition experiences for different skill levels and interests.
ALL WEEK LONG CORE EXPEDITIONS ARE ONLY $720 PER STUDENT FOR 2012!

 | Meet Our CORE Trip Leaders! Steve HarrisSteve Harris graduated from North Carolina State University (B.S.) and Georgia State University (MEd.) with degrees in Math Education. He has been a teacher and coach for 20 years in public and private schools in the U.S. and Taiwan. Steve currently teaches and coaches at Cardigan Mountain School. Steve’s love of nature began when he attended a camp in Maine as a 13-year-old, and has developed into a lifelong passion. He began leading backpacking trips 22 years ago and has enjoyed passing on his love and knowledge of the natural world to people of all ages as he has lead them through the wilderness. Steve especially enjoys guiding his 10 children in becoming skilled outdoors people who are caretakers of nature. Steve has extensive experience in backpacking, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing and snowshoeing. Steve has earned his Wilderness First Responder certification, is a Registered Maine Guide, a member of the Maine Professional Guides Association and has been trained as a certified lifeguard and professional rescuer. The CORE program has been a longtime dream of Steve’s, and he is looking forward to working with the CORE boys this summer. |
