High Energy First Game Win for Cougars
The Cardigan JV Hockey team came out on top in this spirited afternoon matinee. Despite it being their first game of the year, the energy in the rink was palpable. Landon Prince scored early in the first period and unleashed a sea of stuffed animals in the Teddy Bear Toss to benefit the CHaD. Andrew Almeida and Quinton Cepiel's efforts also helped round out a great offensive start for the Cougars.

Cardigan varsity football traveled to Avon Old Farms to face off in their last contest of the season. A tough, back and forth contest saw two evenly matched teams battle it out down to the last possession. A long opening drive for the Cougars took up most of the first quarter. The JV Football team ended their season with a hard-fought win on the road against Mascoma on Saturday, coming out on top 14-6. The Cardigan varsity and junior varsity soccer teams traveled to Eaglebrook School for the 44th annual New England Junior School Tournament. It was a clear cold day in Western Massachusetts and the varsity soccer team was hoping to improve on last years fifth place finish. The format of the tourney changed this year. Cougars End Season with a Win in Final Jamboree Game
The Fourths Soccer team played five games on Saturday at the Jamboree held at Cardigan. The Cougars started off strong in their first game vs. Unity, controlling the ball for the majority of the game. Luis Haces scored three unassisted goals, leaving the score 3-0.

Thirds Team Takes Second Place on a Penalty Kick
On Saturday, November 4, Cardigan hosted the 2017 Soccer Jamboree. The event featured six teams from area soccer programs. Each team had to face four teams in the opening rounds to qualify for the semi and final rounds. The Cardigan Thirds came out hot and never relinquished a single goal in any of its matches, including the finals.

The JV soccer team left Cardigan bright and early, well maybe more early than bright, to head south for the Eaglebrook Junior Boarding School Tournament. Over the course of a thrilling day of soccer, Cardigan had its highest point of the season and a very difficult end of the season.
