Frandsen Finishes 3rd, Qualifying for U14 State Championship
The U14 skiers had some of the hardest snow conditions out there this past weekend. The hill looked more like a skating rink. Sumner Frandsen had another stellar performance finishing in third place qualifying for the U14 State Championships.

Mennen Finishes 13th at U16 NH State Finals
Three U16 athletes competed in the state finals this past weekend at Sunapee. The boys had a tough first run in the SL on Saturday but were able to attack from the back on their second runs for strong finishes. The most notable performance came from George Mennen on Sunday. Cardigan Cannot Hold Off Eaglebrook in a Great Battle 68-63
Cardigan looked to finish off the season by overcoming a strong Eaglebrook team. The team was charged with playing with high energy and being very efficient on the offensive end. This formula helped the Cougars fight the whole game against a bigger team. Their energy showed up in the form of steals, blocks, fast breaks, and loose ball rebounds.

Cougars End Season with Dramatic Win
The Cougars earned a win on Saturday against New Hampton. The final score was 33-29, with the entire game being exciting and within a few points. Leading scorers for the Cougars were Allen Suh and Will O'Connor, each with eight points, followed by senior captain, Peter Dwyer, with six points. The Cougars were glad to end the season on a good note, finishing with one of the best games of the year.

Cougars Take Fourth Place at Fessenden Wrestling Tournament
The Fessenden Wrestling Tournament, held every year on the last weekend of the winter sports season, is also the “crown jewel” of tournaments. Varsity Drops Season Finale
The varsity hockey team dropped the final home game of their season on Saturday afternoon, falling 6-2 in a rematch with Stanstead College. Cardigan outplayed their opponent for much of the game at even strength, but a string of undisciplined penalties in the second period ultimately put the game out of reach. Cougars Leave Their Mark at The Pavek Cup Tournament
The Cardigan JV hockey team began the Pavek Cup Tournament at Rumsey Hall with an amazing win. The Cougars needed some revenge after the Rumsey Hall varsity team beat them twice earlier in the year at Cardigan. Cardigan outplayed Rumsey, but after two periods, the Cougars were down 1-0. Reserve Hockey Drops Season Finale
The Cardigan Reserve hockey team ended its season on Saturday in a back and forth game with Kearsarge U14 losing by a score of 5-1. Masamune Enomoto scored the lone goal for the Cougars putting them up 1-0 in the first period on an assist from Joe Powers. The visiting team then scored five unanswered goals to take the win. Varsity Hockey Win Shootout Thriller
The varsity hockey team exacted some revenge on Kimball Union Academy Saturday afternoon, earning a 3-2 victory in a shootout. The two teams battled hard the entire game, and the closely matched contest went back and forth throughout. Young Nordic Skiers Compete in Middle School Championships
The Nordic Skiing Middle School Championships were held at the Sandwich Fairgrounds on Friday, February 24. The sixth, seventh and eighth grade boys from Cardigan all competed in the four kilometer skate race. The conditions were warm and soft, but all of the CMS skiers gave full effort and competed the course.
