 | What is The Annual Fund for Cardigan? | | Cardigan Mountain School depends on many forms of support in addition to tuition revenue in order to meet its annual operating cost needs. Tuition covers only about 90 percent of these costs, and so gifts to The Annual Fund from parents, alumni, trustees, friends, and foundations are needed to bridge this gap. |
Why give to the Annual Fund? Gifts made between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012 will be used for the direct benefit of the boys' experience at the School this year. Included among the many ways your Annual Fund gift will be put to use are through scholarship awards, the purchase of classroom supplies and athletic equipment, the funding of field trips, and through professional development opportunities for teachers that enhance their skill in meeting student needs. Since this type of charitable giving is often tax-deductible, you are also exercising choice in how your personal resources are used—supporting an outstanding educational experience for boys as they become responsible young men. |
How does the School solicit Annual Fund gifts? Several appeals to donors and friends will be sent during the year, both electronically and through the mail. Phone calls from development officers and Annual Fund committee members will in most cases follow these appeals with requests for gifts or pledges. |
Is there a minimum amount I must give to be an Annual Fund supporter? No! Every gift in every amount brings us closer to our goal. The participation of donors and friends in the Annual Fund—even at the most modest giving level—helps the School to be more effective in soliciting funds from foundations and corporations. A large community of active donors sends a message to potential funders that The Cardigan Way is worthy of their support. |
We try to make it easy, and you have lots of choices! Perhaps the simplest way is to click here to access our secure online donation form. Gifts of cash or check are always accepted as well. Also welcome are gifts of securities, which can provide donors with added tax benefits (speak with your tax advisor regarding gifts of securities).
