Welcome Alumni!
Dear Cardigan Alumni,

The views we enjoy each day when we arrive on The Point are truly a privilege. Surely you remember how picturesque it is, even if while you were here you were too consumed in conversation with a friend, rushing to get to Chapel on time, or perhaps keeping your head down to the winter chill to take stock of the natural beauty of where you were. We try to appreciate it every day, and we're thankful to all of you for giving us a reason to be here.

It is one of our important goals to provide you and your family with occasions to stay connected to Cardigan. From Homecoming Weekend to each and every Cardigan school event, and to the various gatherings that happen in near and distant places, we invite you join in and to remain a part of the continuing life of the Cardigan community. The campus is always open, and you're always welcome here on The Point, so please stop by. You don't need a reason, and we'll welcome you as family, because you will always be an important and valued part of the School - that's the Cardigan Way. Go Cougars!

Alumnus Deane ’99 Speaks at All-School Meeting
5/3/2012
After a glowing introduction of Cardigan alumnus Jake Deane ’99 to the full community, his former Cardigan lacrosse coaches, Mr. Kreuzburg and Mr. Gray, who sang Jake’s praises as being one of the most determined players each had ever had the pleasure of mentoring, they played for us some spectacular video highlights of Jake’s final season at UMass-Amherst. Jake had ultimately become a master at face-offs and essentially a ground-ball king, and, as captain, he took his team all the way to a national championship game against Virginia that year.

Jake then stood before those gathered to talk about what it takes in life to get where you want to be. He attributes his coming to Cardigan (for even just the single—ninth-grade—year) as being the beginning of his realization that, with determination, any type of adversity can be overcome. “I have a lot of really fond memories from this place, but also I think a lot about what it did for me as a person, and what it’s done for me going forward in my life. Living away from my home and family—that was the toughest part, never mind Cardigan’s being out in the middle of … well … way out there! I didn’t know anyone when I came here, or how it would turn out, but that is what has done so much for me!” he said.
